What is Oil in betting?
Rather than just backing the
favorites, many
bettors try to find a game where they believe the
sportsbook has made a mistake when quoting the
odds and
wager accordingly. This can be sometimes referred to as ‘good oil’ or ‘
gravy’. Sometimes your friends will gloat they have extremely good Oil. It is usually unlikely that your friends, do indeed have good Oil.
