What is a Plunge?
When the
odds of a team or
player decrease dramatically they are said to have Plunged. Plunging is usually a good (or better) sign for a team or
player winning in that market (than originally expected) usually due to a lot of money going on that side of the market or new information (such as weather or injuries) becoming known. For example, if the New Jersey Devils'
odds opened at -110 ($
1.91) and closed at -345 ($
1.29), their
odds have plunged. To see where teams have plunged (or gone out sharply, that is, drifted) check out our
