What is MOV?
MOV, also known as +/- (plus-minus) refers to a player or team’s performance in terms of overall scoring for compared to overall scoring against. For example, Liverpool scored 63 goals and conceded 50 goals in the 2015/16 season. This would leave them with an overall plus-minus of +13 goals, which means they scored 13 goals more than they conceded. MOV also stands for Margin of Victory but can similarly be a negative number if the team conceded more points / goals than they scored. All these terms are used interchangeably but essentially mean the same thing.
